Ok, so I’m building my new website with the very competent, professional and talented web master (Timothy Bowser), the subject matter of blogging entered the conversation. I love the fact that my website allows me to voice my opinion about any given subject matter . Then I thought – these days everyone with a cell phone has a platform. Everyone with a twitter, facebook, tumblr and even a myspace account can converse with the world about what is important (or not so important) to them.
So what type blog was I going to create, and more importantly what type of blogger would I be? I don’t like committing to something that doesn’t generate direct revenue, so the daily blogger model is out! I also don’t want to be a slacker with lag time of six months between blogs. So I set a flexible goal of 1-2 blogs per month. This would allow my clients, followers, and ”fans” to have a constant stream of information coming from my company – without feeling like they need to delete, unfollow, or unlike me.
With the frequency in place what would my blogs be about? I’m a business owner, photographer, videographer and digital media producer. What would people (potential clients) want to hear from me? Should it be geared towards the production community or towards the novice? I decided to take the easy road, the road that allows me to be more flexible and creative. I rant. Webster’s defines ranting as (1) to talk in a noisy, excited, or declamatory manner: (2) to scold vehemently. I named my blog REFOCUS because of the photographic indications and the identifier line “The Rantings of Thomas Y. Lynch.” The subject matter will focus more on the professional side of my career but is not limited to any one particular topic. The bottom line; I will talk about what I want, when I want – AND YOU’LL LIKE IT!
Seriously, I hope this blog educates, stimulates, informs and entertains. I have found in my 20+ years in the business that staying relevant is one of the most important attributes of longevity.

Thanks for being real!
Funny but I like your attitude – happy postings.
Blogging is becoming America’s past time – which makes for a well documented society.
